Jamshedpur: In a bid to provide better civic amenities to contract workers, a rest shelter was inaugurated in Katamati, Noamundi, by Chanakya Choudhary, Group Director, Corporate Communication and Regulatory Affairs. Among others present on the occasion included Pankaj Satija, GM, OMQ Division, Tata Steel, RP Mali, Chief, Noamundi Iron Mines, Tata steel, PK Dhal, Chief, Processing and Logistics, Tata Steel, and other senior officials of OMQ Division.
Officials said the rest house has attached bathroom, sitting arrangement, drinking water and washbasin. Construction solutions developed by Tata Steel under Brand Nest In which are innovative, cheaper, durable and environment-friendly, have been used in the construction of the rest house.
At present, eight rest shelters are being run in Noamundi, Joda and Katamati while four are still under-construction. These shelters provide better work environment to the contract workers, said an official.
