Jamshedpur, May 18: The Joint Village Coordination Committee of Jamshedpur presented a memorandum to MP Bidyut Baran Mahto and the Deputy Commissioner of Jamshedpur Lok Sabha constituency on Thursday highlighting the urgent need for road construction from Salgajhudi railway gate to Govindpur railway gate. The committee, consisting of convenor Ram Singh Munda, co-BJP leaders Prakash Sandil, Ram Mukhi, Jujhar Ho expressed concerns over the dilapidated condition of the only lifeline road that serves an estimated population of 80 thousand people residing in rural Govindpur, Rahargoda, Barigoda, Bamangoda, Sopodera, Salgajhadi, Parsudih, Sarjamda, and other areas.

Ram Singh Munda stated in the memorandum that the residents of the areas heavily rely on this road for their daily commute. Unfortunately, the neglectful approach of the local district administration has led to the road deteriorating into a deplorable state. Despite being used by thousands of vehicles, including local bus services and industrial establishments, there seems to be a lack of interest from both the industrial sector and local public representatives in taking responsibility for the road’s construction and maintenance. This unfortunate situation has deeply affected the local population. If the district administration and local representatives continue to show disinterest in addressing this issue, the Joint Village Coordination Committee has threatened to organize a road mass satyagraha movement involving the participation of the general public.
