Research must for development, research stations to be strengthened: CM

Ranchi, March 29: Laying stress on research for development at a program on Sarhul held at Ranchi University today, Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that research is essential for development. He said the state government had decided to strengthen research stations across Jharkhand.

“If the students of the state want to go to another state for research, the government will help them. He said the Higher Education Secretary has been directed to act on the pending matters,” said the CM.

Das said that dance and music are part of Jharkhand’s ancient culture. The government will make arena in every village for the people to promote recreational activities. “Competitions will be held every year in villages and thereafter, these competitions will be held at panchayat, block and district level. The selected artists will be awarded in 3 day State level Tribal Culture Fair at Morhabadi ground, Ranchi.

This fair will bring our cultural identity before the world. The whole world wants to know about the culture, food, custom, life style, livelihood, folk art, song and music of the state. This fair can be availed of as a rich source of information,” he said.

The CM said the tribal people have toiled much for the development of the state. He said that after coming to power, his government has worked for the development of the villages. Small work can bring big changes. People should celebrate the festival with enthusiasm, he said.

RU VC Dr Ramesh Kumar Pandey, Registrar Aman Kumar Choudhary, UDO Dr Hari Oraon, HoD of tribal languages, Dr T. N. Sahu and other professors and researchers were also present on the occasion.
