Jamshedpur: Bramharshi Vikas Manch organized a two day mass Upnayan Sanskar ceremony at Amal Sangh ground, Sidhgora. The ceremony concluded here on Wednesday.
On this occasion, the Upnayan ceremony of 10 children was performed in the presence of a group of priests from Hulasganj Ashram in Jehanabad under the guidance of Rangramanujacharya and with the assistance of priests Acharya Rangesh Sharma, Sunil Sharma, Kamalnayan Sharma and Pawan Sharma. The various rituals performed today included mandap pujan, acharyavaran, ghritdhari, mundane and upnayan.
The children who underwent Upnayan were presented kurta-pyjama, umbrellas, khadaun (wooden sandals) and many other items of daily use.
A feast was also organized at night. In the evening, Acharya Rangesh Sharma gave discourse to the pupils and said that Upnayan was the 10th among the 16 Sanskars of the Hindus. He stressed on following the traditional rituals of Hinduism.
