Republic Day to be celebrated under Covid-19 norms in Seraikela, Champai to be chief guest

Seraikela, Jan 18:In view of the pandemic, this year too Republic Day will be celebrated under the guidelines of Covid-19. Deputy Commissioner Arva Rajkamal held an online meeting through Google Meet to review final preparations. While discussing point wise in the meeting, he said that maximum 500 persons would attend the main function venue. Only those who have been vaccinated with Covid-19 will participate in the program. Children and people above 60 years of age will not be allowed. Minister Champai Soren will be the chief guest.

All the persons attending the main event venue will be wearing face masks following the norms of social distancing of two yards. Double triple seater sofas will not be installed in the venue. Rather, the number of visitors will be limited by doing access control on a first come first serve basis.

He said that tableaux would be taken out by all the 12 departments based on the government’s welfare schemes and national interest and art culture. Three platoons of police force and one platoon of home guard will participate in the parade. There will be a rehearsal for the parade on 22nd and 23rd January.

The health department will check the people entering the ceremony site with thermal scanning, masks and sanitizers at the venue and check the guests and general public. On January 22, the preparations for Republic Day will be reviewed by the Deputy Development Commissioner. In the online meeting, Deputy Development Commissioner Praveen Kumar Gagrai, ITDA Director Sandeep Kumar, Additional Deputy Commissioner Subodh Kumar, Sub-Divisional Officers of Seraikela and Chandil subdivisions, in-charge general branch officers and all senior officers were present.
