Jamshedpur sees record Covid-19 recoveries in single day

Covid scenario: 542 infected, 1081 recover,2 deaths

Jamshedpur, Jan 18: Jamshedpur on Tuesday continued to record COVID-19 recoveries outnumbering the new infections for the third day with 542 people contracting the contagion and pushing the overall caseload to 64,051.

COVID-related fatalities remained high with 2 people succumbing to the virus in the last 24 hours taking the toll to 1098 till date, the health bulletin said.

According to East Singhbhum Covid-19 medical bulletin, as many as 1081 people have walked out of healthcare facilities aggregating 56778 and leaving 6175 active infections.

The number of samples tested today was at 6773 pushing the cumulative number of specimens examined so far to 2147909 till date.

48-year-old man of Sonari Kapali busti and 84-year-old man from Bistupur Galaxy Apartment died during treatment.

Jamshedpur’s positivity rate – the number of people testing positive for every 100 tests – was 8 percent with the latest addition in cases. 6773 samples were tested on Tuesday.

Fresh infections on Tuesday total active cases in the city to 6175.

Ghatsila area reported the maximum 97 cases on Tuesday. 74 cases have come from Telco, 58 from Kadma, 44 from Mango, 41 from Sakchi, 29 from Sonari, 19 from Bistupur.

The positivity rate rose to 2.98 per cent in Jamshedpur.

The cumulative coronavirus case count stands at 64051 and the death count is now 1098, according to the latest health bulletin.

The new cases came out of the 6773 tests conducted on Tuesday.

6773 COVID-19 tests, including 426 RT-PCR, 5932 RAT and 415 TrueNat were conducted in the last 24 hours in the city.

East Singhbhum district administration has conducted 806878 test per million in the district. The recovery rate in Jamshedpur is 89.01% while the mortality rate is 1.71%.

So far in Jamshedpur 2152109 samples have been collected out of which 2147909 have been tested and 2083858 have turned out to be negative.
