Republic Day 2026: Eight Platoons, Colourful Tableaux to Highlight Grand Celebrations in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: Preparations are in full swing for a grand Republic Day celebration in Jamshedpur, with eight parade platoons and colourful tableaux from various government departments set to be the main highlights of the event at Gopal Maidan, Bistupur.

The East Singhbhum district administration has intensified arrangements to ensure a disciplined, secure, and patriotic observance of Republic Day. Officials said the parade will showcase coordinated drills by participating platoons, while the tableaux will reflect themes of development, governance, culture, and national pride.

The annual event is expected to draw a large public turnout, with security, traffic management, and ceremonial preparations being closely monitored to ensure smooth conduct of the national festival.

A review meeting on the arrangements was held at the Collectorate Auditorium on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Development Commissioner Nagendra Paswan and attended by SDM Dhalbhum Arnab Mishra, Civil Surgeon Sahir Pal, SOR Rahul Anand, Sub-Collector of Nazarat David Balihar, DTO Dhananjay, District Public Relations Officer Panchanan Oraon, DEO Manoj Kumar, along with senior administrative and police officials.

The national flag will be hoisted at 9:05 am at Gopal Maidan, the venue for the district-level celebrations. Officials said the event will highlight discipline, national pride, and the district’s developmental initiatives.

This year’s parade will include one platoon of JAP-6, two platoons of the District Police Force, one platoon of the District Home Guard, two platoons of NCC comprising boys and girls, and two platoons of Scouts and Guides. Parade rehearsals will be conducted from January 20 to 22 at Police Lines, Golmuri, and Gopal Maidan, while the final dress rehearsal is scheduled for January 24 at Gopal Maidan under the joint supervision of the Deputy Commissioner and the Senior Superintendent of Police.

A cultural evening will be organised on January 25 at the Town Hall, Sidhgora, where schoolchildren from across the district will present patriotic songs and musical performances, adding colour and enthusiasm to the celebrations.

The administration has directed that the national flag be hoisted at all government offices on Republic Day. Instructions have also been issued for garlanding statues of eminent personalities and cleaning monuments of national importance. JNAC has been asked to coordinate with Jusco management for cleanliness and venue preparation, while departments concerned have been assigned responsibilities related to seating arrangements, ambulance services, fire safety, and crowd management to ensure smooth conduct of the programme.
