Remaining 805 villages to get electricity by 31st March: CM

Ranchi: Reviewing the Energy Department, Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Tuesday said that the remaining 805 villages will be electrified by 31st March, 2017.

Underlining the importance of electricity and road in the development of villages, the CM said that the government is committed to supply power throughout the state and in order to ensure this, the government is working on electricity production, transmission and distribution.

Das said that the villages will not face lack of resources during implementation of the electrification project. The chairman-cum-managing director (CMD) of Rural Electrification Corporation (R.E.C.) Limited Dr. P. V. Ramesh said he was ready to fund any energy related project in Jharkhand.

He said that presently, 32 engineers of R.E.C. are working on the supply of electricity in Jharkhand. Additional manpower will be supplied if required for completing the project in timeframe. He said that the Union Energy Minister Piyush Goyal has also directed to complete electrification work in Jharkhand by 2019. He said that after assuming the REC office, it was his maiden visit to Jharkhand.

Development Commissioner Amit Khare, Additional Chief Secretary CS R. K. Srivastava, Principal Secretary to the CM Sanjay Kumar, JSVVNL Chairperson-cum-MD Rahul Purvar and other people were present on this occasion.
