Jamshedpur, Mar 7: National General Secretary and Spokesperson of NCP Yuva Morcha, Dr. Pawan Pandey, met the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) Deputy Municipal Commissioner on March 7 to address concerns of Sakchi Fish Market shopkeepers facing displacement.
Dr. Pandey highlighted that shopkeepers have been selling fish here for 45 years, earning their livelihood. Recently, municipal authorities allocated a new space to some shopkeepers, leading to conflicts when a few traders attempted to construct permanent structures in the market.
Responding to the issue, Deputy Municipal Commissioner Krishna Kumar assured that no shopkeeper would be displaced and that all will be allocated spaces systematically. Until then, traders can continue operating temporarily while maintaining cleanliness.
Dr. Pandey thanked Krishna Kumar for his decision, expressing gratitude on behalf of the shopkeepers of Sakchi Fish Market.
