Chaibasa, July 21: Novaday committee of Patna organized a two-day long regional badminton tournament at Jhinkpani prakhand Noyodaya school compound which commenced on Thursday .
The chief guest and BJP leader who is a TAC member, JB Tubid lighted the veremonial lamp and hoisted the tournament flag .
The participants in eight clusters from West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand took part in march past. The students also performed mesmerizing Jharkhand chhau, marmburu and lawni dance which enthralled the spectators.
While addressing the students, Tubid said that once upon a time the game and education are treated differently but now they have become part of our education.
He added that while he was working as collector in different part of India he helped open ten Jawahar Nodya Schools. Tudu emphasized the need of discipline to achieve success in life. He also wished the progress of Novodyaya Vidyalay in length and breadth of the country.
He also wished the children to be victory in tournament .Jhinkpani Novodya Vidyalay Principal A K Mahto said that eight clusters have taken part from Bihar Jharkhand and west Bengal include Ranchi cluster A and B, Kotihar Cluster A and B, Bardhman Cluster A and B Patna cluster A .
After the tournament the students would be selected to qualify for national team. Later on, a Plantation drive was also conducted and smart class room worth Rs 50 lakh was also inaugurated in Jhawahar Novodya School Jhainkpani. A large number of students and teachers were present on the occasion.
