Jamshedpur, July 21: State HRD minister Neera Yadav today visited the Kolhan University�campus at Chaibasa in�neighboring West Singhbhum district �along with state HRD secretary for higher education, Ajay Kumar Singh. While addressing she promised infrastructural support to the varsity to provide better education.�

The HRD minister�laid the foundation stone of two hostels, each for boys and girls and the central library . However, both the minister and the secretary ordered a probe of the construction work before commencing the hostel’s construction work also to be built by the same contractor.
Addressing the teachers and students at the function, Yadav spoke on discipline both among teachers and their students. She asked teachers to be role models for their children without just concentrating on their duties.
Addressing the Kolhan University constituent college principals and the students� union representatives, he slammed the vice-chancellor Dr RPP Singh for miss propagating that university has not got funding from the government this year.
The State education minister Dr Neera Yadav took out the paper which mentioned that around Rs 600 crore funds has been released to the colleges of Jharkhand and major funding was given to the Kolhan University. The education minister also commented that the university nowhere looks like a university.
The university should plan out to build auditorium and other building we are ready to finance the veracity. Dr Yadav also asked the teachers not to educate simple books but also provide character based education to build a good character in students. The students should be admitted on line as well as off line.
The education should be imparted along with skill development .While peaking The principal secretary for Higher education and technique , Ajay Kumar Singh said that the KU does not look like university it resembles a high school building.
The university must have huge compound and building where an atmosphere of education can prevail. He also added that the state is ready to finance but the university must work out. He also mentioned that Jharkhand require at least 1 thousand colleges whereas we have only 423 colleges.
The government has decided to open 100 colleges in the state and very assembly will have one degree college. After the meeting the students raised many question before the education ministers. A large number of people and university staff, dean, faculty members, the principals of university affiliated colleges.
The foundation stone laying ceremony was followed by a number of meetings with students, teachers, principals and university officials at the Kolhan University. The minister also participated in a tree plantation ceremony within the Kolhan University premises.
“The idea is to promote�discipline�and fitness among the students and also promote them to carve their career,” said a�university�official.
