CM pays tribute to slain leader Nirmal Mahto on 36th Death Anniversary
Jamshedpur: Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that today large-scale recruitment is being done in the state. The recruitment process has started for more posts than those that were not filled in the last 20 years. The government has made a law to ensure that there is no disturbance in all these appointments, transparency remains in the examinations and those who are promising get jobs. Under this law, whoever tampers with the competitive examinations or leaks the question paper will be in jail, be it any person, officer-employee or institution.
He was addressing the 36th death anniversary of their beloved leader, Nirmal Mahto on Monday. A heartfelt floral tribute was offered to the statue of the late leader, whose life was tragically cut short in 1987. Nirmal Mahto’s unwavering dedication to the cause of a separate state and the welfare of tribals continues to be remembered and honored by thousands of supporters and leaders from various political backgrounds.
The streets of Kadma were filled with emotion as leaders from different political parties came together to pay their respects to the memory of Nirmal Mahto. The leader, who was gunned down in front of the Chamaria guest house in Bistupur area, left an indelible mark on Jharkhand’s political landscape. Thousands of people joined the commemoration, converging upon Kadma to express their deep admiration for the late leader.
Addressing the gathering, JMM leader Hemant Soren emphasized the significance of working tirelessly for the state’s development, echoing Nirmal Mahto’s dedication to creating a separate state where the tribal population could lead dignified lives. Soren assured the people that the Jharkhand government is fully committed to the state’s progress, with numerous development projects underway to improve the standard of living for all residents.
Throughout the day, senior members of the JMM paid their heartfelt tributes to Nirmal Mahto, reaffirming his enduring legacy. Transport Minister Champai Soren was among those who expressed their reverence at Nirmal Mahto’s Samadhi Sthal in Uliyan, Kadma, and Martyrdom Sthal at Chamaria Guest House in Bistupur. The atmosphere resounded with chants of “Jai Jharkhand” and “Veer Shaheed Nirmal Mahto Amar Rahe,” as a sea of party flags and banners adorned the surroundings.
This year’s commemoration witnessed a significant turnout, with supporters from neighboring states such as Odisha and West Bengal joining the solemn event. The resonance of Nirmal Mahto’s ideology among party workers from these states has resulted in a growing attendance over the years. Leaders and party workers from districts like Dumka, Sahebganj, and Pakur also converged to pay their respects, demonstrating the enduring impact of Nirmal Mahto’s vision.
In his address, Soren highlighted the Hemant Soren government’s dedication to realizing Nirmal Mahto’s dreams for Jharkhand. The progress made thus far stands as a testament to the state’s commitment to its people. The commemoration concluded with Minister Champai Soren paying homage to Nirmal Mahto’s statue at Chamaria Guest House, underscoring the enduring influence and inspiration that Nirmal Mahto continues to provide to the people of Jharkhand.
