Ranchi, Oct 24: Union Minister and Election In-charge Shivraj Singh Chouhan delivered a fiery address at a public meeting in the Hatia assembly constituency of Jharkhand, cautioning voters about the dire consequences of re-electing the current government. “Today, a Dana cyclone is coming; this storm will pass in two days, but if this government comes back, it will ruin Jharkhand,” Chauhan declared. He accused the Hemant Soren government of welcoming illegal immigrants from Bangladesh, stating, “They marry our daughters and occupy our land. If this government stays for another five years, Jharkhand will be destroyed.”
Chauhan further criticized the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), comparing its leaders to Kumbhakarna, who is known for his excessive eating. “These JMM leaders eat sand, soil, and coal all year round,” he asserted. He highlighted the misuse of central funds intended for public welfare projects, claiming, “The Prime Minister sent crores of rupees for drinking water pipelines, but this money has been eaten by the Congress and JMM government.”
Chauhan emphasized the failure of the Soren administration to deliver on its promise of creating 5 lakh jobs annually. “No one got a job in four years and ten months. The youth were made to run around for jobs, and their dead bodies came back,” he lamented. He vowed that the BJP would address the issue by filling 2.86 lakh posts immediately after the first cabinet meeting. “We have five vows. Our first vow is to provide jobs to the youth,” he stated, outlining plans to give 5 lakh jobs, along with monthly stipends of Rs 2,000 to students pursuing higher education for two years.
The minister also made promises aimed at women’s welfare, pledging to credit Rs 2,100 into women’s accounts every month under the Ladli Behna Yojana. He criticized the Hemant government for failing to deliver promised financial support for cooking expenses, asserting, “They promised Rs 2,000, but when elections came, they gave just Rs 1,000.”
Addressing housing issues, Chauhan assured that those living in kutcha houses would receive pucca houses. “Modi and BJP will build houses for the poor,” he declared, while also pledging that everyone would receive free sand to build homes. He stated that gas cylinders would be available for Rs 500, with two cylinders given free during festivals, reinforcing the BJP’s commitment to fighting corruption.
“This election is to save the future of Jharkhand; it’s an election to protect our soil, bread, and daughters,” Chauhan emphasized, rallying the crowd’s support for BJP candidate Naveen Jaiswal. “I am confident that you will make Naveen ji win with record votes. Take a pledge today: we will make Naveen Jaiswal win and form the BJP government.”
