171 units of blood collected

Jamshedpur, June 28: The East Singhbhum district branch of Red Cross Society today organized a blood donation camp in memory of social worker KK Singh on the occasion of his birth anniversary at the Red Cross Bhawan. 171 units of blood were collected at the camp.
The chief guest on the occasion was district SSP Anup Birtharay who observed, �The East Singhbhum district Red Cross Society is rendering yeomen service to society by organizing blood donation camps regularly. We all know what strains have to be undergone to organize camps of this nature. It is because the Society has taken it as its responsibility to organize blood donation camps that such ventures are going on smoothly and receiving good response from the citizens.�
Anup Birtharay had words of appreciation for late KK Singh�s family. He stated, �The very fact that a blood donation camp has been organized on the birth anniversary of KK Singh is a reflection of the social inspiration he had given to his family.�
Earlier SSP Anup Birtharay inaugurated the blood donation camp jointly with senior social worker Hari Ballabh Singh Arsi, SK Singh, Anil Thakur, Raj Kishore, Rajesh Kumar and the camp�s convener and Red Cross Society�s vice president Vikas Singh. The 171 donors today reiterated the commitment of the community to reach out to the needy people.
Today�s blood donation camp was conducted by the District Red Cross Society�s honorary secretary Vijay Kumar Singh. The organizing committee comprised Chandra Mohan Singh, Rabindra Nath Chaubey, Chulbul, Sandesh Kumar Singh, Prabhunath Singh, Ram Uday Singh, Jai Kumar, Dipu Singh, Ashok Kumar, Akhilesh Kumar Rai and Raghavendra Kumar.
Senior journalist Jai Prakash Rai, Devendra Singh, Vinay Singh, Udit Agrawal, BJP district president Dinesh Kumar and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
