BJP leaders visit Dhatkidih, condemn communalization of Ansari�s death

Seraikela, June: A delegation of Seraikela-Kharsawan district BJP visited Dhatkidih village in Seraikela on Friday and spoke to local residents about the recent incident of mob lynching.

According to Shailendra Kumar Singh, a member of the BJP delegation, �The villagers told us the alleged mob lynching incident was basically related to theft. Three thieves had entered the house of one Kamal Mahato of the village on the night of 17^th June. One of them, Tabrez Ansari, was soon caught by the villagers while the other two managed to escape. He was arrested by police and sent to jail. But unfortunately he died of injuries and certain anti-social elements tried to give the entire incident a religious hue.�

The BJP leaders said a group of anti-social elements had later barged into the village and vandalized a religious place. A written complaint has been made in this regard by the villagers. But the police arrested those who complained against Ansari and his associates, said the BJP leaders.

The BJP leaders met Deputy Commissioner Chhavi Ranjan and SP Karthik S and demanded action against the culprits. They were led by state BJP president Laxman Gilua. They said efforts should be made to nab the two thieves who escaped from the village and action should be taken against those trying to link the incident with a particular religion.
