Jamshedpur, May 26: Prince Verma, a bike driver for Rapido, fell victim to a snatching incident on Marine Drive Road under the jurisdiction of Kadma police station in Jamshedpur. The incident occurred on Tuesday while Verma was on duty. He had completed an online booking to drop a passenger from Bistupur to Kadma Marine Drive. However, on his way back, he was targeted and robbed by a group of anti-social elements.
The assailants not only demanded money from Verma but also resorted to physical violence when he refused to comply. They forcefully took away his purse containing Rs. 4,000. In a disturbing turn of events, the culprits called in reinforcements when Verma protested, subjecting him to further assault. They used his helmet, belt, and a bottle to attack him. However, Verma managed to escape and return home, narrowly escaping more harm. The entire incident was captured on CCTV footage, which Verma promptly handed over to the Kadma police on Thursday. The police are currently taking necessary action based on the evidence provided.
