Ranchi: NIA nabs militant collecting levy from traders, transporters 

Ranchi, April 11: NIA has arrested a militant who was collecting levy from coal traders, transporters, railway contractors and traders in Jharkhand, Bihar, Chhattisgarh and Odisha.

The NIA team raided two places in Khunti in Jharkhand and two places in Assam. During this, the NIA team arrested a person named Binod Munda alias Sukhwa from Khunti district. The arrested person is an armed cadre of PLFI militant organization.

The NIA teams also seized several incriminating materials including two walkie talkies, five mobile phones, SIM cards and money as well as documents related to PLFI. In this case, the first two accused were arrested with Rs 3 lakh and weapons.

After the arrest of Dinesh Gope, PLFI militant Martin Kerketta and other militants are busy in strengthening the PLFI organization. In May 2023, NIA arrested Dinesh Gope from Nepal. After which he was taken on remand and interrogated for several days. During this period, NIA had received many important information.
