Ranchi, April 11: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Ranchi has issued a 15-day weather forecast for Jharkhand, predicting rain with thunderstorms between April 12 and 18. Meteorologist Abhishek Anand noted that thunderstorms were likely during this period, particularly in the first three days of the week.
Following the rainy spell, the weather was expected to remain dry, with below-normal rainfall anticipated in the second week from April 19 to 25.
The maximum temperature was expected to be normal or below normal between April 12 and 18, ranging from 27 to 40 degrees Celsius. However, as the week progressed, temperatures were expected to rise, with maximum temperatures ranging from 29 to 42 degrees Celsius in most parts of Jharkhand.
Meanwhile, the minimum temperature during the forecasted period of April 12 to 18 was expected to be between 20 to 26 degrees Celsius, normal or slightly above normal. In the subsequent week, from April 19 to 25, minimum temperatures were predicted to remain normal, ranging from 19 to 25 degrees Celsius.
On the previous week’s weather, Abhishek Anand observed that Jharkhand experienced maximum temperatures ranging from 27 to 44 degrees Celsius, while minimum temperatures were recorded between 19 to 28 degrees Celsius. The region witnessed excessive rainfall in 12 districts, with 5 districts experiencing excess rainfall, 5 districts receiving normal rainfall, and 2 districts witnessing below-normal rainfall. Overall, Jharkhand received 86 percent more rainfall than usual during this season.
