Jamshedpur, Sept 16: The three month relaxation granted for updating all relevant documents of vehicles by the Raghubar Das government has come as a huge relief for vehicle users who were having a harrowing time after imposition of higher fine rates with the implementation of the revised Motor Vehicles Act.
Rambabu Tiwary, senior functionary of the BJP and a member of the Jharkhand State Transport Authority had written letters to the Chief Minister and the state DGP requesting for trimming down the rate of fines. A group of youth met Tiwary and garlanded him for his efforts to ease the fines and ensure a provision of three months to get all documents updated.
Rambabu asked the youth members to respect all traffic norms and to ensure safe driving. Avoid rough driving as that may endanger the life and limbs of drivers as well as those of others.
He said that during this three month relaxation period, the rates of fine for traffic violations would be charged as per old rates. Among those who went to meet Rambabu Tiwary to thank him for the relief included Vikas Sharma, Sailesh Gupta, Monty Agrawal, Vivek Purohit, Adhiraj Tiwary, Niraj Mishra and others.
