Jamshedpur, May 16: Jharkhand Pradesh Youth Congress secretary Rakesh Sahu has demanded strong action against the director of 111 Save life Nursing Home for irresponsible and uncouth behaviour shown towards a medical inspection team constituted to investigate accusation of anomalies in matters of charging exorbitant fees from patients undergoing treatment there.

In a press communiqué Rakesh accused that on receipt of complaints that 111 Save Life Nursing Home was charging exorbitant amounts for treatment of patients, Jharkhand Health Minister Banna Gupta had orders a probe into the allegations. When the team reached the Nursing Home in Adityapur, the director, Dr OP Anand did not cooperate and used rough and unparliamentary words. The director did not allow the team to talk to the relatives and attendants of the patients undergoing treatment at the 111 Save Life Nursing Home.

The state YC secretary Rakesh Sahu stated in the press release, “The Congress knows how to return fire with fire. But the party adheres to values in intents, words and deeds. We cannot debase our selves by behaving in the derogatory manner in which the director, Dr OP Anand of the 111 Save Life Nursing Home behaved but we know what action to take within civilized limits.”

Sahu mentioned in his release that doctors were educated and followed etiquettes in word and behaviour but expressed surprise and anger on his unruly behaviour. Rakesh said, “We look upon a doctor as God, a messiah but Dr Anand’s behaviour makes him a black sheep in the league of Samaritans.” He demanded of the state government to take immediate action against the director of 111 Save Life Nursing Home for extracting excessive medical charges from patients and for failing to cooperate with the investigating team.
