Jamshedpur: A case of alleged sexual exploitation came to light in Bagbera with the police arresting a man, identified one Deepak, for allegedly exploiting a railway employee, a widow, for several days before ditching her. The accused also reportedly tried to kill the woman by forcing her to drink phenyl.
Cops said they had lodged a case against the accused and began investigation into the allegations. They said the case had been transferred to Sakchi Mahila Police Station.
The officer in-charge of Sakchi Mahila PS Seema Kumari said Adhikari was arrested from his residence on the basis of the complaint.
She said the victim had complained that Adhikari had expressed sympathy with her and raped her in the year 2015. After committing rape, the accused had assured the victim of marrying her.
