Chakradharpur, Nov 16: Former Chief Mininister Raghubar Das Wednesday demanded a CBI probe into the murder of Hindu leader Kamal Devi Giri. He said he would meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah and put forth the demand before him.
Das, who met the relatives of late Giri in Chakradharpur, condemned the killing and blamed the current dispensation in the state for the incident. He met Mahadev Nand Giri, father of late Giri, who iterated his demand for a CBI probe into his son’s killing. He said the BJP stood in solidarity with the aggrieved family and demanded a speedy probe into the incident. He claimed that the killing was politically motivated and demanded police protection for the family. He said bodyguards should be provided to Umashankar Giri and Phuldev Giri, brothers of the deceased and financial assistance should also be given to the aggrieved family.
Many BJP leaders accompanied Das. They included Shashi Bhushan Samad, Putkar Hembram, Gita Balmuchu and JB Tubid.
