Jamshedpur, Nov 16: The constituency colleges of Kolhan University will soon get National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranking.
“NIRF ranking is done every year. All colleges have been issued instructions in this regard. They have completed registration and will have to fulfill the necessary criteria on their own. This can only be possible through team work,” said Dr PK Pani, spokesperson, KU.
KU sources said a team of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) will be visiting the KU colleges for evaluation purpose. After evaluation, the colleges would be given NIRF ranking which is must as per University Grants Commission (UGC) rules. UGC would allot funds to colleges on the basis of their NIRF ranking through the Union HRF Ministry. A list of top universities and colleges is issued every year. It is based on different categories and subjects. It was first issued on 29th September 2015. At the beginning, the rankings were given under four categories, namely university, engineering, management and pharmacy. Research was added to the category first time in 2021. Presently the HRD team ranks universities and colleges on the basis of five main parameters and 16 sub-parameters.
