Jamshedpur, Jan 9: Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das is set to re-enter active politics by rejoining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on January 10, 2025. Das, who recently resigned as the Governor of Odisha, confirmed his return to politics, where he plans to work as a common worker of the BJP. In an interaction with the media in Ranchi, he expressed his dedication to serving the party and the people of Jharkhand.

Das, who served as Chief Minister of Jharkhand from 2014 to 2019, said, “I am and will always remain the CM. But CM means ‘common man.’ A person who is accessible to everyone at any time.” He emphasized his unwavering commitment to public service and his readiness to take on any responsibility that the BJP assigns him. “Whatever role the party gives me, I will accept it as a loyal worker,” he said.

Raghubar Das also highlighted his past work and his approach to leadership. “As the Chief Minister and later as the Governor of Odisha, I always kept my doors open for the common people. It was never about holding a title for me; it was always about serving the people,” he remarked.

In a significant announcement, Raghubar Das shared his concern about the growing religious conversions in Jharkhand. He said, “There is a conspiracy to destroy the tribal society through religious conversion. It is happening on a large scale in the state, and no one is doing anything to stop it. I will go to every village to protest against this.” Das is determined to launch a movement to halt religious conversions, and he vowed to expose those behind it. He had previously presented a strong bill against religious conversions during his tenure as Chief Minister, and he intends to reignite this cause as part of his re-entry into politics.

Das also met with Jharkhand Governor Santosh Gangwar, greeting him on the occasion of the New Year. He shared pictures of the meeting on social media. “Had a courtesy meeting with Governor Santosh Gangwar, greeted him, and wished him well for the year ahead,” Das posted.

Furthermore, Das visited Medica Hospital, where he met former Deputy Speaker of the Lok Sabha and senior BJP leader Karia Munda. He enquired about Munda’s health and wished for his speedy recovery. “I pray to Baba Baidyanath that he gets well soon and returns to public service,” Das said.

With his return to politics, Raghubar Das is ready to once again take up causes close to his heart and address issues facing the people of Jharkhand.
