Jamshedpur: Raghubar Das, former Chief Minister of Jharkhand, officially rejoined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in a ceremony held at the BJP state office in Ranchi.

His re-admission was facilitated by BJP state president Babulal Marandi, who also felicitated him during the event.

Prominent leaders, including the country’s Minister of State for Defense Sanjay Seth, Ranchi MLA CP Singh, BJP state general secretary Aditya Sahu, and vice president Rakesh Prasad, were present, alongside a large number of BJP workers from Jamshedpur who travelled to Ranchi for the occasion.

In his address to the media after joining, Raghubar Das expressed his deep gratitude toward the party, stating that he wishes to serve as a dedicated worker of BJP.

“I want to remain in BJP as a worker, and when I leave this world, I want to be wrapped in the BJP flag,” said Das, emphasizing his commitment to the party. He also assured that if given any responsibility, he would fulfil it diligently.

Das further remarked that the mandate from the people had placed the BJP in the opposition, and he vowed to intensify efforts to hold the government accountable.

“Let us give the next six months. If the government fails to fulfil its promises, we will protest from the streets to the House,” he warned, indicating a strong future action plan. Along with Babulal Marandi, he has pledged to engage in a long battle against the current government.

Reflecting on his emotional resignation from BJP in October 2023, Das said, “That day was emotional for me, but as a disciplined worker, I accepted the responsibility.”

He spoke of his past efforts to understand the problems of the people, including his visits to 30 districts in Odisha. Now, he is returning to active politics, pledging to work toward the welfare of Jharkhand.

Das also highlighted key concerns for the state, including the issue of infiltration and conversions, calling it a major threat to both Jharkhand and the nation.
“Jharkhand was the first state to ban PFI, but their activities are once again rising in Santhal Pargana. The government must take action to curb this unconstitutional activity,” he urged.
Das was joined by several BJP leaders, including former Jamshedpur Mahanagar BJP district president Gunjan Yadav, rural district president Chandicharan Sao and others.
