KPS Kadma hosts Inter School Debate, DBMS English School adjudged winner
Jamshedpur, July 10: Kerala Public School (KPS), Kadma hosted the Frank Anthony Memorial All India Inter School Debate in the school premises on Monday.
Ten eminent schools of Jamshedpur participated in the aforementioned competition. The topic of the day for (the preliminary round category) was ‘Social media gives no scope for having real peers. ‘Each school comprised two speakers, where one supported the motion and the other opposed. All the participants presented their cases eloquently with a perfect argumentative fervour.
The debate was chaired by Abhishek Sinha, Faculty- Head of the Department, English at Kerala Public School Kadma. The panel of judges included Dr Anita Choudhary, professor at the Department of English & Cultural Studies, Kolhan University, Chaibasa. Nalin Goel, an architect by profession and an excellent orator. Rajkumari Ghosh, Head of the Department of English, Moderator of Arka Literary Club at Arka Jain University.

The highlight of the event was the rebuttal session , as a volley of questions were answered confidently by both the sides , inviting counter questions which were aptly answered by witty and vivacious speakers. The session was a kaleidoscope of opinions, thoughts, ideas and perspectives that definitely enhanced the knowledge and understanding of the topic among students.
DBMS English School was the declared the winner followed by Carmel Junior College.
The Best Speaker award was bagged by R Saharsh Siddhant of Carmel Junior College.
1st runner-up speaker was Anishka Jha of DBMS English School and 2ndrunner-up speaker award went to Aleena Mohsin of Gulmohur High School.
The event was graced by Academic Director, Kerala Public Schools, Lakshmi R, Principal, Kerala Public School Kadma, Sharmila Mukherjee, Headmistress, Kerala Public School Kadma, Alamelu Ravishankar, Coordinators and teachers from different schools of Jamshedpur.
Earlier, the programme began with invocation of the almighty followed by a welcome song by the school choir group. The head of the institution Sharmila Mukherjee boosted the confidence of the participants with her enriching words.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Alamelu Ravishankar, Headmistress, Kerala Public School Kadma.
