Jamshedpur, Dec 2: After hurricane Shaheen, another storm is going to rise in the Bay of Bengal. This storm has been named Jawad. Saudi Arabia has given this name to the storm. It means ‘generous’. It can also be called jowar. The effect of the cyclonic storm will also be seen in Kolhan too. SER has cancelled 12802 New Delhi-Puri Purushottam Express, 12889 Tata-Yeshwantpur Express and 12876 Anand Vihar-Puri Neelachal Express, on December 3.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department, the low pressure area near Andaman and Nicobar can turn into an active storm in two-three days. The wind speed will reach 45-55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph very likely over Odisha Coast from late night of 3rd December.
It is likely to become strong wind speed gradually and move towards north-west and adjoining west central areas with a speed of 90-100 km/h.
As per the notification, 18478 Haridwar-Puri Kalinga Utkal Express, 12802 New Delhi-Puri Purushottam Express, 12889 Tata-Yeshwantpur Express and 12876 Anand Vihar-Puri Neelachal Express, 18477 Puri-Haridwar Utkal passing through Tatanagar on Friday, 12801 Puri – New Delhi Purushottam Express trains will be affected on December 3 and 4. According to Abhishek Anand, Head of Ranchi Center of Meteorological Department, due to the storm, the weather will change in Jharkhand including Jamshedpur from December 3.
On December 3, there is a possibility of light rain in Kolhan. Light to moderate rain may occur over southern and central parts of Jharkhand till December 4-6. The weather will be clear from 7th December. On Wednesday, the city recorded a minimum temperature of 13.5 degrees Celsius and a maximum temperature of 29 degrees Celsius. On Wednesday, there was a decrease of 0.3 degrees in the minimum temperature as compared to Tuesday, but it was 0.6 degrees above normal.
The minimum temperature reached 12 degrees on Thursday. However, due to the storm, the minimum temperature will increase from December 3.
