Jamshedpur: Development initiatives in the Jamshedpur East Assembly constituency gained significant momentum on Wednesday as MLA Purnima Sahu laid foundation stones for 11 public welfare projects. Sanctioned under the Urban Development and Housing Department, these schemes represent a total investment of Rs 84.83 lakh across Baridih, Sidhgora, and neighboring areas.
Key Infrastructure and Civic Projects
The newly unveiled schemes focus on enhancing road connectivity, drainage systems, and essential utilities:
- Road Construction: Projects include works at Meera Path Link-1 (Nagadungri and Baridih Basti), a stretch from Avtar Singh Chaman’s residence to Rosewood Public School in Bagunnagar, and road construction at Plot No. 288 in Bagunhatu.
- Drainage and Sanitation: The MLA launched drainage and covered sewer construction in Mithila Colony Road No. 3, a major covered drainage project along River Road in Kalindi Basti, and a new system near Surya Mandir to combat waterlogging.
- Water and Lighting: New deep-bore wells will be installed near Bara Bhatta and Vidyapati Transport Colony, while a high-mast lighting system is slated for Bagunnagar.
- Community Facilities: Renovation work will begin at Son Mandap and a Sidhgora guest house, alongside the construction of a vehicle washing centre at the Sidhgora depot.
Commitment to Neighborhood Development
During the ceremony, Purnima Sahu reaffirmed her commitment to providing basic civic amenities to every neighbourhood in the constituency. She noted that several additional development schemes are currently in the pipeline and will be implemented on a priority basis to further enhance public convenience.
