Public representatives discuss rural issues with officials

Seraikela: A meeting of district administration officials and public representatives of Seraikela-Kharsawan was held on Tuesday.

The meeting was presided over by the MP of Khunti Kariya Munda and the MP of Ranchi Ram Tahal Choudhary. MLA of Kharsawan Dashrath Gagrai was also present at the meeting. Various problems being faced by the local villagers pertaining to basic civic amenities were discussed in detail at the meeting.

MLA Gagrai raised the issue of power cuts in Burudih and Chilku panchayats. The executive engineer of the electricity division assured him to solve the problem within 15 days.

MP Ram Tahal Choudhary said a list should be prepared to determine the number of electricity poles that were to be installed at various places.

At the meeting, the progress and current status of various education department schemes were also discussed. The district superintendent of education said there were a total approved posts of 2825 teachers in the district at present, but there are only 1923 teachers currently posted in various schools against the said vacancies, the DSE said.

Various other issues related to drinking water, toilets, welfare schemes run for BPL families and other communities were also raised during the meeting.
