Birth anniversary of Ganga Narayan celebrated

Jamshedpur: The 272nd birth anniversary of Shahid Ganga Narayan Singh was celebrated at Roopnagar Community Building, Sonari, on Tuesday.

A statue of late Ganga Narayan Singh was also unveiled on the occasion. The chief guest of the event was the MLA of Potka Menka Sardar.

In her address, the MLA said that martyr Ganga Narayan had sacrificed his life for the freedom of the country. She said the birth anniversary of Ganga Narayan should be declared a public holiday by the government. She said she would raise the demand for declaring the birth day of the great freedom fighter as a state holiday in the Jharkhand Assembly.

Among others present during the programme included Chunnu Bhumij, Asit Sardar, Kapur Bagi, Chanda Singh, Parimal Singh, Kavita Munda, Shakuntala Sardar and Manik Singh.
