Jamshedpur: Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi on Tuesday presided over the Public Grievance Redressal Day at the Collectorate, where he interacted directly with citizens from both urban and rural areas and listened to a wide range of grievances and demands. Residents from various blocks and localities raised issues related to road construction and repair, pensions for the elderly and widows, health assistance, land disputes, encroachment removal, drinking water supply, and repair of rain-damaged houses, among others.
Significant concerns included the re-operation of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) in Bhula and the supply of dirty water in Jugsalai, which the Deputy Commissioner took serious note of, instructing concerned departments to act on priority.
Applications and memorandums submitted by citizens, covering personal, social, and collective concerns, were promptly forwarded to relevant departments. Satyarthi emphasized that sensitivity and promptness are essential in resolving public grievances and directed officials to address the issues in a time-bound and rule-based manner.
The Public Grievance Cell, functioning under the Deputy Commissioner’s guidance, ensures that complaints are digitally tracked and coordinated with the concerned departments for effective resolution. The initiative continues to serve as a vital platform for citizen engagement and administrative accountability in East Singhbhum district.
