Protest over death of Blinkit’s worker in Ranchi

Ranchi, July 23: Hundreds of employees took to the streets and protested strongly against the Blinkit delivery app company. The protesters closed all the warehouses and offices of the company across the city on Tuesday, due to which Blinkit’s services came to a complete halt.

This outrage has erupted after the death of Neeraj Kumar, a delivery worker of Blinkit, in a road accident. The protesting employees, numbering around 400, allege that the company neither provided any help nor expressed any condolences after Neeraj’s death.

The protesters clearly stated that Neeraj belonged to a very poor family and his sudden death has completely devastated his family.

The employees have warned that if the company does not give proper compensation to Neeraj’s family, all the delivery partners will go on an indefinite strike.

The angry employees also tried to register a case regarding Neeraj’s death by reaching Bariatu police station, but the police refused to register an FIR. This further spread anger among the employees.

The employees say that what has happened to Neeraj today can happen to any other delivery partner tomorrow. They are demanding justice and say that compensation is the right of Neeraj’s family.
