Jamshedpur: Property worth Rs 10 lakh was gutted in a major fire that broke out in a garment godown near Jama Masjid, Sakchi, late yesterday night.
The fire broke out in the godown in the wee hours, sources said. The proprietor of the godown Murad said the cause of fire could not be immediately known.
Police said a short circuit could have led to the mishap. No casualty was reported in the incident save for the loss of property.
Local residents said they found flames coming out of the godown. The fire was controlled after several hours of effort put in by firemen.
Local police reached the scene and registered a case in this connection.
