Ghatshila: Ghatshila College is set to foster education in classical music and culture with the establishment of Spic Macay (Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture among Youth). The formation of Spic Macay is scheduled to take place next week, aiming to provide students at Ghatshila College with enriching education in Indian classical music and culture.’Principal Dr. RK Chaudhary shared that directives from the University Grants Commission (UGC) and Kolhan University have prompted the initiation of Spic Macay. The objective is to offer specialized education and cultivate a deep interest in Indian classical music and culture among the students. The college has commenced activities in this direction, with plans to host Indian Classical Music programs regularly. Additionally, seminars focusing on Indian culture will be organized to provide students with a holistic understanding of the rich heritage.’The formation of Spic Macay represents a commitment to preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of India, enriching the educational experience for students at Ghatshila College.
