Principal of DAV School Baharagora killed in road mishap on NH-33

Jamshedpur, Nov. 15: In a shocking incident, principal of DAV School Baharagora was killed and the driver of the car was injured in a road mishap on NH-33 near Baharagora early Wednesday morning when their car hit a stationary heavy vehicle.
According to information the 55-year-old S. K Pandey, principal of DAV School Baharagora, was sitting on the front seat of the car (Maruti Omni) driven by school driver, Shatrughan Mahto and were on their way to Ranchi to attend DAV Ranchi zone function at DAV Bariatu when their car hit against a trailor standing which was parked on the side of the NH-33 without dipper (back lights) lit near Kesharda under Baharagora police station.

Soon after the mishap, Baharagora MLA Kunal Sarangi joined with the police in arranging ambulance for reaching the victim to the hospital.
� We are investigating the incident. As per our information the principal was conscious but was bleeding. We took out the injured and immediately arranged an ambulance and rushed the critically injured principal and the driver to Tata Main Hospital in Jamshedpur. However, the doctors declared the principal as brought dead at Tata Main Hospital, while the driver Shatrughan Mahto who had sustained head injuries is critical and admitted in high dependency unit (HDU) of Tata Main Hospital,� said Baharagora police station OC, Binod Singh.
The police official said that the trailer bearing registration number NL-01K -7270 has been seized while the driver of the trailer fled from the site after the mishap. The car of the victim has also been kept at the Baharagora police station.
Sarangi cancelled all Birsa Munda jayanti celebrations in Baharagora assembly constituency after the death of the principal.
