JNAC scores 320 in the Swachh Sarvekshan so far, aims for more
Jamshedpur: A whopping 6000 people downloaded the Swachhata App till Tuesday midnight in steel city following a vigorous campaign launched by Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC). A total of 9198 downloads were made by the people, making Jamshedpur the second city after Devas. The total downloads were shown on Swachh City portal�s dashboard between Tuesday and Wednesday midnights.
Throughout the day, the Swachhata App remained the most talked about topic. People of all age groups and belonging to various communities and organizations participated in the campaign with enthusiasm. Many youth helped students, women and senior citizens download the App at different places across the city. The Swachhata ambassadors and employees of JNAC also organized awareness camps at prominent public places to create awareness among the people. Two decorated Swachhata Rath made rounds of the city. Banners and hoardings were also put up at different places.
As a result of the simultaneous downloading of the GPS-based Swachhata App, the server was overloaded for some time. In many cases, the one time password (OTP) was received late. In some cases, the OTP was received 30 minutes later. As a result, many enthusiasts could not download the App. Notwithstanding all difficulties, the App was downloaded by 6000 people in just one day. JNAC has got 320 scrores in the Swachhata Sarveskshan so far.
Althrough JNAC had set a goal of 10,000 downloads a day, Jamshedpur turned out the second top performer in terms of the total number of downloads in a day.
The special officer of JNAC Sanjay Kumar said the main purpose behind asking people to download the Swachhata App in such large numbers just in a day was to publicize it. He said now a large number of people know about the Swachh Sarvekshan and Swachhata App and they are talking about it.
The partners of JNAC in the Swachhata App download campaign included Jamshedpur Women�s College, Graduate College, Karim City College, Jamshedpur Cooperative College, JAP VI Battalion, TTS, MNPS, Jusco, Change India Foundation, NSS and Basti Vikas Samiti. Swachhata ambassadors Pappu Sardar, Poonam Mahanand, Biswajeet Prasad, Tarun Kumar and Abhishek Kumar also played a vital role.
