Jamshedpur, August 31: Lions Club of Jamshedpur North and District Administration under National Health Mission today started as a joint venture an Urban Primary Health Care at the premises of Jamshedpur North at Lions Polyclinic Pardih, Mango to extend health care services in that area which in absence of any permanent and suitable place in and around were not able to avail.†
Urban Primary Health Care was jointly inaugurated by Dr Maheshwar Prasad, District RCHO and Nodal Office of Urban Health Care and Kanchan Singh District Governor. The center will operate from nine in the morning to three in the afternoon with provision of free OPD facility and free medicines. Lions will support with mass awareness, support services and regular monitoring.†
Rajnish Kumar, First Vice District Governor Lions Clubs International took the initiatives and coordinated with the District Administration for starting of the Primary Health Centre was also present along with Sudipto Mukherjeee, Nalini Mukherjee both Past District Governors along with Club President I Sreenivas Rao, , Jt. Cabinet secretary Arup Ghosh, Sharanjit Kaur, I. Meenakshi, Nirmal Kaur, Kajal Kumar Sur, V N Singh.† ††
Dr Nimman Rashi Toppo, Dr J P Lal, Praduman Singh, Multipurpose Worker and other Para Medical Staff of National Heath Mission were also present.† In Jamshedpur there is a proposal to start eight Urban Primary Health Centers and two Community Health Centers. The clinic at Pardih, Mango is the fifth Urban Primary Health Centers to be opened. The other four are already operating at Govindpur, Telco, Laxmi Nagar, Gandhi Maidan, Mango and Nirmal Seva Sadan premises at Shashtri Nagar. One Community Center is operating at Birsa Nagar.
