Jamshedpur: With the impending Lok Sabha elections, preparations for free and fair polls are underway. A meeting to the effect was convened today at the Jamshedpur Collectorate by the Deputy Commissioner and SSP.
Other officials present at the meet were directed to identify such places or booths that were sensitive and send reports accordingly. The order included places where voters were prone to be coerced or identification of trouble shooters.
Officials were asked to provide reports on physical verification of booths provided or not provided with basic facilities for voters. They were directed to make groups for voters� awareness drives. A list of booths where web forecasting, videography and still photography could be done had to be made.
The meeting directed that the licenses of all arms had to be physically verified. The DC directed the BDO, CO and OCs of police stations to coordinate in this mission.
Among those who attended the meeting included the DDC, ADC and other senior district officials.
