Jamshedpur, Feb 5: Pragya nand Kumar of Flat Products was crowned the champion of Inter Divisional Chess Championship organised by Sports Department of Tata Steel from 1st to 5th February 2016 at Eastern wing Hall of JRD Tata Sports Complex.
Kaushal Kumar Jha of Shared Services was he runner of the championship. This was the completion of Eleventh event of Inter Divisional Championship of 2015 – 2016 season.
Out of 11 units, 9 units had participated and 58 employees had participated in it from the following Units-West Bokaro, Shared Services, CSI, Long Product, Flat Product, General Offices, OMQ, West Bokaro and KPO.
Pragyanand Kumar of Flat Products scored 7 and half points, Kaushal Kumar Jha of Shared Services scored 6 and half points, C B Singh of CSI scored 6 points and was the third runner-up while Praveen Kumar of Shared Services was fourth.
Mahesh Kumar Agarwal, Head Operations, (G Blast Furnaces) was the Chief Guest and distributed the prizes to the winners. Jayant Bhuyan and Awadesh Kumar were the Arbitors and conducted the entire 8 rounds of the above championships.
Rajiv Seth, Sr. Manager Sports welcomed the Guests and participants. On the occasion Unit Representatives, Gautam Acharjee, J Behera, R K Mishra, Hassan Imam, Tilak Ram, Firoze Khan & Arvind Prasad were present.
Avinash Kumar conducted the entire championship and was supported by Firoze Khan, Ms Punam Kumari, Ms. Renu Bhaduriya. Vivek Sharma, Ajit Singh, Arun Sinha, J Tiwary, G Kashi and Ravi Barua & his staffs team in making the championship successful.
