Keen contest on cards
Mail News Service
Jamshedpur, May 11: The Jamshedpur and Singhbhum Lok Sabha seats will go for polls tomorrow between 7am and 4 pm. All security arrangements are in place and smooth flow in every booth is expected.

Keen contests are expected for both the seats. It will be a democratic battle and whoever emerges victorious in either seat will do so after a neck and neck race to breast the parliamentary tape.
The Jamshedpur seat will see a Guru-Chela contest on the political turf as Grand Alliance and JMM strongman Champai Soren takes on NDA candidate and sitting BJP parliamentarian Bidyut Baran Mahto. This fight is billed as the fight of two political Moghuls who have almost equal claims to sail to Parliament. But only one sword can fit the Lok Sabha scabbard and it is up to the 16,70,371 voters to decide across 1,885 polling booths on who gets the next five year parliamentary term.
The Lok Sabha battleground for the Singhbhum seat will not be easy meat for the two main contenders here either. Laxman Gilua the NDA candidate, sitting parliamentarian and BJP state president will lock horns with Grand Alliances Congress candidate Geeta Koda who is definitely not a new lady on the political block. Both contenders have work to show for the latter, especially in rural segments, and the 12,57,462 voters will not just toss coins in the 1,715 polling booths but give the options a deep thought before pressing the EVM buttons to decide on the parliamentary dreams of the two contenders and their respective political parties.
Meanwhile, all polling officials have reached their polling booths. Tight security arrangements have been put in place. Special vigil is being kept in sensitive areas. Basic facilities for voters comforts have been catered to. The grueling heat may not beat the enthusiasm of the now more responsible voters especially not that of those who are going to get their fingers inked for the first time.
