Jamshedpur, Oct 28: The upcoming Assembly elections are all set to be hassle-free as faulty electronic voting machines will no more disrupt polling process. Keeping in view frequent reports about EVMs and VVPAT machines catching snag on polling day, the district administration has already empowered the election officers deployed at every polling booth with the technical knowhow. In the event of EVMs and VVPATs not functioning properly, the election officers will be pressed into repair duty on the spot without waiting for the technicians to arrive and troubleshoot the situation, sources said.
Sources said the district administration has already provided training to block development officers (BDOs) and circle officers (Cos) on troubleshooting. State level master trainers Gautam Kumar and Amarendra Kumar imparted the training at Jamshedpur Collectorate.
Sources said all Assistant Returning Officers (AROs) and Sector Magistrates are being informed about the technical knowhow related to EVMs and VVPATs.
