Poll Violence: Residents gherao Jugsalai police station

Jamshedpur, May 15: Residents of Jugsalai Hill View Colony and Millat Nagar staged a demonstration outside Jugsalai police station in protest of arrest of local youths in connection with recent poll violence.

The agitators demanded release of the youths arrested by police for pelting stones on police and paramilitary jawans on the day of polling in Jugsalai. They said the district administration should release all accused persons without conducting any investigation into the incident of violence.

Meanwhile, district police officials said no culprit would be allowed to walk scott-free. Cops said they would take stern action against those who dared to disrupt peaceful polling and disturb communal harmony in the area.

Local Congress leaders have demanded fair probe into the incident.
