No entry without ID card: Dist Returning Officer

Jamshedpur: Counting of polls for the Jamshedpur Lok Sabha constituency will commence at 8 am on May 23 in the Counting Centre at Jamshedpur Cooperative College.

A meeting to the effect was chaired by the District Returning Officer Amit Kumar at the District Collectorate auditorium today. All AROs, Counting Observers,

Counting Supervisors and counting staff were given instructions to ensure accurate compilation of poll figures successfully.

Amit Kumar directed all counting officials and staff to be punctual and be at their allocated tables as per Vidhan Sabha constituencies and commence counting on time.

The District Returning Officer clearly ordered that round-wise figures should be uploaded on the Suvidha App and in case of errors in addition the concerned counting staff would face stern action.

The District Returning Officer also directed that basic facilities should be provided at the Counting Centre as per directives of the Election Commission.

He also made it clear that entry to the Counting Centre would strictly be on the basis of legitimate ID cards. No person or agent would be allowed to enter the premises with mobile phones.
