Jamshedpur: A lecture on economic democracy was organized at Michael John auditorium, Bistupur, on Friday under the aegis of Prout Universal. The programme started with the garlanding of a portrait of Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar, the exponent of Proutst philosophy. The guests lit the ceremonial lamp to inaugurate the event. They were honoured with bouquets by the organizers.
In his address, the chief speaker Vimlanand Avdhut and special guest Parmanand Avdhut spoke on various aspects of Proutist philosophy and economic democracy. Avdhut said that political democracy was another name for democracy which means economic and political centralization.
The speakers said the democracy had given citizens the right to cast vote, but had also snatched the right to economic equality from the people. As a result of the inequality, the gap between the rich and the poor had grown wider by each passing day, they said.
Among other speakers present during the programme included Jitendra Singh, Indu Devi, Parasnath Prasad and Sudhir Singh. The programme chairperson Arvind Lal said that political democracy was another name of democracy.
