Police yet to trace abducted five year old girl

Jamshedpur : The police have failed to trace five-year-old girl, who was abducted from her house in Sakchi.The police have neither been able to trace the girl nor detect the alleged abductor who is a resident of the same locality as the victim.

” It is really surprising that even about a week has passed since my daughter has been abducted from the house, but we have no clue whether she is alive or not. We had expectation from the police where we had lodged an FIR on February 13 but the police did nothing to trace her out,” said Misti Srivastava.

“We have doubts that the accused Rabi Lohar has sold my daughter to someone and is not returning back home in the fear of action against him,” said mother of the five-year-old.

Aisa, who was a resident of Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) area, disappeared on February 12 evening. As the mother was away for shopping and aunt had been to neighbourhood for bringing milk, the girl who was watching TV serious along with the 22-year-old Rabi Lohar disappeared from the home.

Officer-in-charge, Sakchi police station Mohan Kumar Sharma has claimed that the alleged abductor Rabi had been spotted at Garabasa in Golmuri thana area last night.

” We are taking every step to find her. We had got information that Rabi was caught by some local residents in Garabasa. We got the information at about 8 pm on Saturday. Soon a team of police team rushed to the spot, but on reaching there we did not get anyone as such. We suspect the information that we had received was not baseless,” said Sharma.

Meanwhile, deputy superintendent of police (city) Animesh Nathani said they are conducting a thorough search of the entire Garabasa area in Golmuri.

The child’s mother Misti Srivastava said in the FIR that Rabi who would stay along with his parents in the neighbourhood had started visiting her house since the past two months.

When there was no information about the missing girl, Misty along with husband Pintu Srivastava came to the Sakchi police station and lodged the FIR, alleging Rabi to have abducted the girl.

The officer-in-charge said as it was a case of abduction they have circulated the message about her through wireless and social media.

Rabi Lohar and the family of Misty Srivastava belong to less privileged section of the society. When Rabi’s father Sambhu works as a security guard in JNAC, Pintu Srivastava, father of the abducted victim, works at a furniture shop. The five-year-old girl is her parent’s elder child, the younger is a three-year-old son.

A police officer on condition of anonymity said that a child-trafficking racket is on in the region and may be the five-year-old girl who gone missing from the house on Sunday might have fallen victim to such racket.
