Jamshedpur, Feb. 19 : In an attempt to clear rush of passengers during the ensuing Holi and summer, South Eastern Railway (SER) has decided to run a superfast special train between Santragachi and Jabalpur (in Madhya Pradesh).
The train- Santragachi-Jabalpur Weekly Superfast Special- will run via Tatanagar and several other railway stations under the Chakradharpur division.
The weekly train will chug on its maiden journey from Santragachi on March 8. The train will continue to run till June 29.
Railway officials at Garden Reach, headquarters of SER today informed that the weekly superfast train (02192) will leave Santragachi at 8.40 pm every Thursday and will reach Jabalpur at 3.10 pm , the next day. The superfast train will arrive Tatanagar railway station at 12.30 am ( past midnight).
In the opposite direction, the train (02191) will leave Jabalpur at 8.55 pm every Wednesday . The train will arrive Santragachi at 4 pm, the next day. The return train will come to Tatanagar at 11.55 am. The train will halt for two minutes at the Tatanagar railway station in its to and fro journey.
The composition of coaches the train includes one AC three tier coach, one composite AC coach, 10 sleeper class coaches, four general class coaches and a luggage van. In all the train will have 17 coaches.
Moreover, officials of headquarters of SER in Kolkata, said a circular has been issued announcing the Tatanagar-Kacheguda Weekly Summer Special Express from March 6 to June 27, the Rourkela-Puri Summer Special Weekly Tatkal from March 1 to June 29; and the Tata-Visakhapatnam Express that started from February 17 to July 1.
The Kacheguda (07439) weekly will leave Tatanagar every Tuesday at 10.50pm and reach its destination near Hyderabad at 5pm on Thursday.
The Rourkela-Puri train (08409) will leave the northern Odisha city every Thursday at 10pm and reach the temple town in the same state at 10.45am the next day.
