Jamshedpur Police pelted with stones during raid, three including ASI injured

Jamshedpur, Nov 3: A police operation to apprehend two individuals residing in Rahargora, under the jurisdiction of the Parsudih police station, took a violent turn as stones were hurled at the officers. The incident resulted in injuries to three police personnel, including two Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs).

The incident unfolded in the Rahargora area, under the purview of the Parsudih police station, where law enforcement had initiated an operation to apprehend two local residents. ASI Satish Kumar Pandey, ASI Surendra Sharma, and Havildar Rajkumar were dispatched for the operation. During the course of the raid, unidentified individuals threw stones at the police officers, prompting a scramble as they sought to protect themselves.

Regrettably, ASI Satish Kumar sustained a head injury from one of the thrown stones, necessitating immediate medical attention. Subsequently, all the injured officers were taken to Sadar Hospital for treatment, with Satish Kumar being referred to Tata Main Hospital (TMH) for advanced medical care.

The police successfully apprehended both suspects during the operation. City Superintendent of Police (SP) Mukesh Kumar Lunayat has reported that the injured officers are currently in stable condition. The incident is under investigation, although sources suggest that the police operation was related to the enforcement of illegal liquor sales, which led to a hostile response from the local community.
