Saraikela, March 26: The Saraikela-Kharsawan district police team nabbed the four culprits involved in the Chadri Morh looting incident of December 21 last when KC Enterprises manager Ajay Acharya and his associate were robbed of Rs 6.57 lakh. The looters came in a Bolero SUV. The incident spread a sense of insecurity in the area and questioned the capabilities of the district police.
The four persons arrested in the case are between 20 to 24 years of age. The Saraikela-Kharsawan district police chief Chandan Kumar Sinha formed a team under Saraikela SDPO Avinash Kumar who took the assistance of the technical cell to get the relevant details and probe the incident. The police were able to unravel the mystery with the arrest of Gamharia Ramchandrapur resident Somen Mahto, Tamar resident Lalit Mahto, Pankaj Das of Patamda and Chaitanya Mahto alias Chetan. The arrested have confessed to their crime. The police have recovered two motorcycles, six mobile phones, a black bag containing suspicious articles and Rs 5 thousand in cash.
Police super Chandan Kumar Sinha has appreciated the successful efforts of the police team. It has been reported that SDPO Avinash Kumar was under tremendous pressure to nab the culprits.
After the solving of this mystery, expectations are running high for solving the cases of dacoity at jewelry shops in Kandra and Chandil markets and the loot attempt at HDFC Bank.
