Police foil robbery plot, arrest one from Golmuri

Jamshedpur, April 29: Acting on a tip-off, police raided a place behind a temple in Golmuri Circus Ground at 8.45 p.m. on Thursday and foiled a robbery plan of four criminals by arresting one Banwari Lal Singh alias Jitendra Singh. Three others goons managed to flee.

Headed by DSP (City), a team of police officers including the Golmuri police station in-charge Satyendra Kumar Singh, inspector Srinivas, ASI Rajesh Kumar Ranjan, and Armed Forces of Golmuri police station raided the area and recovered a country-made pistol, two live .315 bullets and a Nokia double SIM mobile phone.

This was disclosed by City SP Chandan Jha during a press conference at Golmuri police station on Friday.

The City SP further said, the criminals had spotted a employee of Transport Nagar in Dimna and had planned to robber him of Rs 20 lakh and had plans to execute the incident on Friday, April 29.

Jha informed that arrested Banwari Lal Singh is a resident of Agrico area. The other three criminals who managed the escape have been identified as Mahendra Singh alias Vicky Singh of Siroman Nagar in Mango, Rajkumar Saini alias Budhu Saini of Sidhgora and Sarjit Singh alias Bakey Singh of Namda Basti in Golmuri.

He said that Mahendra Singh alias Vicky is the owner of Maa Tara Roadways located in Kalimati Road and is a childhood friend of Budhu Saini.

On the other hand, Banwari Lal has already been to jail in connection with the Bakuda loot incident and was freed only seven months back. Budhu Saini had also spent time behind bars in loot incident.
