Police bust drug operation, arrest youth with 81 packets of brown sugar in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Oct 25: In a major crackdown on illegal drug trade, Kapali police achieved significant success by arresting a youth with a large quantity of brown sugar.

Acting on a tip-off, police conducted a raid near Hasandugri Kala Brick Kiln in the Kapali police station area of Seraikela-Kharsawan district and apprehended the accused, identified as Mohammad Arman, with 81 packets of brown sugar.

Kapali OP in-charge, Dhiranjan Kumar, stated that the police received information about a youth actively involved in the buying and selling of brown sugar in the area.

Based on the intelligence, a special team was formed, which promptly carried out the operation.

During the raid, authorities seized 81 packets of brown sugar,  Rs 2,800 in cash, a black Activa scooter, and a mobile phone from the accused.

Police investigation revealed that Mohammad Arman was supplying brown sugar locally and played an active role in the drug network.

The police are now working to identify other members of this trafficking network and determine the extent of its reach across different areas.

Dhireanjan Kumar emphasized that the police will continue special operations to eradicate the illegal drug trade in the Kapali region.

He warned that anyone involved in drug-related activities will face strict action, reaffirming the commitment to make the area drug-free.
